The restored building now grabs attention on Elkin’s West Main Street with an art deco façade that makes use of the theater’s original blue exterior panels.

The quaint foothills town, named for the landmark quartzite knob just a mile or so south, houses a mix of mom-and-pop retail shops, antiques stores, cafes, coffeehouses and bed-and-breakfast inns.

A new vertical sign harkens back to the theater’s art deco beginnings and pairs well with the original curved, blue panels that were refurbished and reinstalled on the brick exterior.
