The Granite City Greenway was born when a greenway on the west side of Mount Airy and a greenway on the east side were united via a connector. It is popular for walking, jogging, cycling, fishing and roller blading. The horseshoe-shaped greenway borders the Ararat River on one side of town and Lovills Creek on the other.
